Happy Friday Beloved! We hope all is well!
It has been a whirlwind few weeks for us. Two weeks ago, Sofiya and Natalie went to PA for a week to see family and go to a wedding, and then I left last week for Key West. When I got back, I went right back into the ministry schedule (while trying to catch up on sleep), then, yesterday we took an intercessory mission trip to Gainesville to prophetically pray at the sight of Florida’s very first abortion clinic. Needless to say, it’s been a busy time.
Praise God, it has also been a very fruitful time, especially during the trip to Key West.
We got to Key West on Tuesday night, and based on what we saw last year, we were ready for there to be a lot of hard ground. Although we saw a little bit of resistance, we also saw openness and conviction that truly blew our minds. That night, I personally prayed for 10-15 people, including several that prayed to receive Jesus. The rest of the team saw similar openness and conviction too. One guy even got so convicted he dumped out his alcohol. You can see the puddle in this pic:
The most powerful moment of that night though was when we met a local college student named Elke. Early in the night, Elke came right up to me, and with tears in her eyes she asked me to pray for her. When I did, she began travailing and asking God to forgive her for her sins. She had a radical encounter with Jesus that night and got totally delivered. It was amazing.
The next night, we were at the same corner, and 3 more college kids came up and asked for prayer and counsel and all ended up praying to receive Jesus. They told me that they were friends with Elke and that she had told them to come there to talk to us. One of them was her roommate, and she told us that Elke had come home the night before so excited about Jesus that she was praying for all her roommates. That’s when she showed us what Elke had posted on Instagram the previous night:
The girl also told us that Elke is so influential and popular on campus that she could easily start a Jesus Movement. After hearing all this and seeing what God was already doing in the other students, the next day I called Elke and asked if we could set up on campus somewhere and do worship and preach the gospel. Elke was VERY excited about that, and she knew exactly where we should go. So, a few hours later, we headed for the College of the Florida Keys:
It was such a powerful time. We set up in an area where students walk through, and people were drawn in to the presence of God through the worship. Several people even prayed to receive Jesus while we were there:
While we were there, Elke also recorded this testimony of how God had saved her. So powerful!
That night, Elke even came out to minister with us on Duval Street, in the exact spot where she had been delivered 48 hours earlier. She beautifully sang worship songs there for over 30 minutes and many people were drawn in by it. It was a truly EPIC redemption! Now she is even saying that she wants to lead a worship service right there at the school.
Here’s a video showing highlights from the school and from her worship on Duval Street. It includes a clip of her deliverance as well. So amazing!
Another powerful moment was when a woman came up to Kaitlyn asking for directions and Kaitlyn asked if she could pray over her. When she did, God gave her a word of knowledge that “your babies forgive you for what you did to them.” The woman responded by saying “what babies?” Kaitlyn said, “you know what babies…”
The woman immediately burst into tears and hugged Kaitlyn.
The woman left without sharing her story, but she came back the next night and told Kaitlyn that she had two abortions years ago and that ever since then her life has gone in a bad direction. She prayed to receive Jesus that night and she also received physical healing in multiple parts of her body. It was amazing.
Here are some pics of some others we ministered to:
We also got to connect with local pastors in the area and one ministered with us all 3 nights. Afterwards he told me that we really inspired him to keep evangelizing the area.
I shared about this and some other highlights from the trip at The Front on Monday night:
Thank you all so much for praying! And thank you so much to those who stepped up on Friday night to help out in my absence. I heard it was a great night at the Bayfront, so praise God!
Saturday was an interesting night at Riverwalk. Early on, I came over to the gift table to rally people to pray, but Chuck and Debbie were in a conversation with a young man, so I decided to wait for them to finish. While standing there, I began talking to another young man who was nearby, and it turned out it was the other young man’s brother. Chris and Christian were their names. They were both SO hungry that we ended up talking to them for close to an hour. They both prayed to receive Christ, and one said he could feel the Holy Spirit filling him when he did. It was awesome!
There were a good amount of people at the park that night too and we got to pray for others as well. It was a great night.
On Sunday, the beach was officially open again for the first time since the Hurricane, and it was great to see the bigger crowds again. Many people were ministered to, but my favorite moment was when I was giving an altar call towards the end of the night and several people in the pavilion prayed along with me. Two of the people that prayed were siblings from a family of 11. Jack and Rachel ministered to them afterwards and the parents said that those two were the only ones in the family that hadn’t received Christ yet. The parents had been very concerned about them because of that. They were SO excited that the kids both prayed to receive Jesus that night, and said it was a huge answer to prayer.
So cool! Here’s the family:
